easyMute

This is a one-use Android app that may come in handy: a way to quickly drop the volume of whatever music / app you’re listening to by putting your hand over the phone – it works using the proximity sensor. It’s pretty cool actually, giving one the sense having control and telekinetic power and an unwavering sense of power, over your Android. For a brief moment. I’m still trying to figure out if it will work when my alarm clock goes off whenever I choose for it to — and then I raise my hand and say, ‘Let me sleep!’ and then it goes off.

It should be useful during university lectures next year as well, I always seem to leave the sound on, get an email, make a noise, and get glares from the lecturer and the students and feel an emerging super-ego guilt-like sensation.

But, other than the above — you should try out this little app if you want to.

Get it here.

Being able to turn your alarm off so easily could be a double edged weapon. In my case it would definitely make me miss a lot of university lessions.
